Maintenance Team Leader/Qualified Electrician at Talented Recruitment Specialists

• We are looking for an experienced, highly competent Qualified Electrician/Maintenance Team Leader to take responsibility for a dedicated electrical maintenance and COC team.
• This is not primarily a construction installation role. We are looking for someone who is comfortable being given a vehicle, assistant, daily bookings and company procedures, and who can independently manage the technical and operational requirements of their jobs with minimal supervision.

Key experience and capabilities:

• Qualified electrician with strong practical experience.
• Excellent electrical fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
• Strong residential and light-commercial maintenance experience.
• Excellent knowledge and practical application of SANS 10142-1 and electrical compliance requirements.
• Strong experience with inspection, testing and COC work.
• Ideally appropriately registered to inspect, test and issue Certificates of Compliance within their permitted scope.
• Confident working on existing installations, DBs, earth leakage faults, nuisance tripping, circuit faults, geysers, stoves, lighting, plugs, switches and general electrical maintenance.
• Ability to identify non-compliances and clearly determine the rectification work required.
• Ability to scope and price/quote smaller electrical repairs and alterations accurately.
• Good understanding of materials and ability to determine what is required for a job without unnecessary trips to suppliers.
• Able to supervise and efficiently utilise an electrical assistant.
• We are looking for an independent, customer-focused electrician who can think for themselves, take ownership of a job and work with minimal supervision.
• The successful candidate should be well presented, professional, punctual and organised, with strong customer-facing ability and good communication skills.
• They must be comfortable with digital job cards, reporting, documentation, stock management and following defined company procedures.
• The right person will take pride in their workmanship, vehicle, tools, stock and customer relationships, with potential to progress into a senior/team-leader role.
