Maintenance Technician - Ekurhuleni (East Rand) at Unique Personnel

Job Description    
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interpret drawings and instructions where and when necessary, as and when required, to ensure correct manufacturing method and carry out instructions as specified.
• Carry out component manufacturing (improvising where necessary) in accordance with engineering practices and verbal instructions 
• On a daily basis, to ensure that standard maintenance practices are adhered to throughout the company 
• Monitors and maintains supplies to ensure supplies are available when necessary 
• Installation of new machinery as and when required, to ensure installation is carried out in accordance with engineering instructions.
• Do fault finding on machine breakdowns to determine method of rectification. 
• Do fault finding on machines that are of 230V and 380V. 
• Monitor preventative maintenance programme to ensure compliance with maintenance schedule 
• Maintenance on Hydraulic and Pneumatic machines. 
• Do fault finding on Packaging machines and Flexographic Printing Machines.
• Liaise with Factory Manager in accordance to comply with workload requirements and ensure order of priorities is maintained. 
• Maintain maintenance record system. 
• Maintains safety standards in accordance with current legislation 
• Attend meetings on a weekly basis to report back on maintenance 
• Ensure and maintain compliance in accordance with Health and Safety legislation 
• Do any other reasonable work as instructed by management

Inherent Requirements    
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum of Grade 12
• Electrical knowledge and experience 
• PLC experience 
• Minimum of 5 years experience in production related maintenance 
• Technical Qualification/Trade – Preferably a MILLWRIGHT 
• Mechanical knowledge and experience (preferable) 
• Experience in tape conversion (advantageous)
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings 
• Self-management of the maintenance function
