Manager - Applications at Ithala Development Finance Corporation Limited

Reporting to the Divisional Manager: Applications Management, the Manager: Applications will manage the planning, sourcing, and operations of computer software applications and ensure applications administration and user related services are availability. 

The Manager - Applications will: 

• Manage the application portfolio ensuring that quality standards are met, projects are completed according to timelines and financial resources are set and managed. 
• Keep abreast of technological changes. 
• Manage analytical and design input for changes. 
• Manage the development of application changes. 
• Manage system testing and implementation. 
• Manage support calls to ensure user support and that high service levels are maintained. 
• Support ongoing operations. 
• Manage human capital through effective performance management and employee development and empowerment. 

The following minimum requirements should be met in order to be considered: 
Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Computer Science/information Systems. 
• Post-graduate qualification in IT/Computer Science will be advantageous. 
• Relevant industry certifications will be advantageous: 
• Programming: e.g. CSS, HTML, SQL, EDI, C, SQL, Python 
• IT Governance: e.g. COBIT, ITIL, TOGAF 

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in people management. 
• Minimum of 5 years practical experience in supporting large scale multi business applications. 

Requisite Functional Competencies 

• Computer literacy in Ms Office package. 
• Knowledge of all legislation pertaining to IDFC. 
• Knowledge and experience in financial planning and forecasting. 
• Knowledge and understanding of Public Financial Management Act. 
• Knowledge of corporate governance principles. 
• Knowledge of enterprise risk management concepts, frameworks and methodology. 
• Knowledge of legislative compliance. 
• Practical knowledge and understanding of performance management systems development and implementation.
