    Manager Engineering

    Job Purpose:

    • To ensure a dedicated focus on maintaining and improving engineering standards and procedures to the Mine/Minerals Processing operations, to reduce operational and business risks and protect the capital assets of the company. This role must also support large capital projects in the Operation to suc

    The Appointee should:

    •  Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical
    •  Government Certificate of Competency – Mine & Works
    •  Minimum of 3 Years’ experience as an appointed 2.13.1 Engineer
    •  Specialised practical/technical skills in Mining environment, projects
    •  Planning, cost of ownership and financial models
    •  Knowledge of planned maintenance strategies
    •  Knowledge of Company, Commercial law, Minerals Act, BCEA and appropriate legislation
    •  Be proficient in Microsoft Office
    •  Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
    •  Clear security screening record.
    •  Valid driver’s license (if applicable).

    Advantageous Qualifications:

    • Level 7: Bachelors Degree and Advanced Diplomas Bachelor Degree Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology

    Additional Requirements:

    • Middle/Executive Management Leadership Development Programme

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Leadership & Strategy Development  Provide visible felt leadership in safety, sustainable development and Sibanye Stillwater values.  Contribute to the development of strategic plans.  Lead and manage resources to deliver production targets and projects as required. Maintenance Strategy  Develop, implement and monitor engineering maintenance, risk and operational strategies and plans.  Provide and oversee engineering services, infrastructure (roads, power, water) and equipment availability are adequate and maintained to meet operational goals. Continuous Improvement  Manage, implement and contribute to continuous improvement and asset optimisation initiatives and projects for engineering processes.
    • Stakeholder Relations  Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and cross-functionally.  Ensure open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders. Building a values-based organisational culture  Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment. ESG Compliance  Align to international responsible mining principles.  Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, occupational health and safety and risk management standards and best practices.  SA Gold Operations: Align to World Gold Council (WGC) Responsible Gold Mining Principles (RGMPs).  SA PGM Operations: Enhance Together for Sustainability (eTfS) initiative. SHE Compliance  Maintain and comply with SHE standards within the work environment.  Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. SHE Management:  Instil a culture of SHE leadership within the department. Quality Management System (QMS):  Approve department’s documents.  Comply with requirements of the Quality Management System. Focus on safe production & operational excellence  Focus on safety and health as well as operational excellence  Improve our position on global industry cost curve
    • People Management Recruitment:  Design the specific Operations’ discipline structure to support the achievement of the organisational mandate.  Review and approve labour plans around operational targets. Performance Management:  Provide leadership and inspire team members towards high performance.  Manage performance and development of reporting staff.  Set the specific Operations’ discipline performance targets and criteria that align with organisational goals for the team. Employee Relations:  Drive the Organisational Culture and Climate within the Business Unit to ensure achievement of organisational objectives and employee safety. Training and Development:  Drive a culture of Learning and Continuous Improvement within the specific Operation to ensure achievement of organisational objectives and safety.  Mentor individuals to enhance the individual`s knowledge, skills, values and attitude.  Create opportunities for development through participation and involvement in new business or technology enhancement projects for team members.  Provide coaching to team members on an ongoing basis. Transformation & Sustainability:  Drive a culture of Transformation within the specific Operation to ensure organisational sustainability.
