Senior/National Senior Certificate (Grade 12). Basic qualification accredited with the South African Nursing Council in terms of government notice 425, i.e. diploma\ degree in nursing as a professional nurse.
Degree/diploma in nursing management registered with the south African nursing council. A minimum of 10 years appropriate \ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a professional nurse with the south African nursing council in general nursing.
At least 5 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate\ recognizable experience in management level as assistant manager in a hospital. Strong leadership, good communication and sound interpersonal skills are necessary. South African Nursing Council annual practicing certificate. Service certificates compulsory. Computer literate. Valid EB driver’s license.
Duties :
Management of nursing clusters and provide guidance and leadership towards realization of strategic goals and objectives of the division. Provide professional, technical and management support for provision of quality patient care through proper management of nursing care programs. Advocate and ensure the promotion of nursing ethos and professionalism.
Develop and monitor the implementation of policies, programmes, regulations, practices, procedures and standards pertaining to nursing care. Utilize information technology and other management information systems to manage nursing information for the enhancement of service delivery. Establish, maintain and participate in inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teamwork that promotes efficient and effective health care.
Manage and utilize human, financial, physical and material resources in accordance with relevant directives and legislation. Relieve Senior Manager nursing.
