    Manager Sustainability and Corporate Communications

    The purpose of the role is the strategic value-creation and differentiation of the McCain Business through data driven sustainability and communication. The role will make a positive difference in the way McCain affects the environment, communities and to create an effective communication strategy and plans.

    Skills/qualifications Needed

    • Min. 4years of professional experience in sustainability
    • Min 4 years of professional experience in corporate communication.
    • Min 3 years’ experience in project management with strong understanding of data-analytics
    • A bachelor’s degree in environmental science will be advantageous.
    • Passion for sustainability and communication.
    • Motivated by making sustainability a data-driven management-discipline.
    • Strong organizational, planning and project-management skills. Enjoying multi-tasking. Structured, rigorous and tenacious personality is essential.
    • Analytical mind: capacity to analyze trends and data, pinpointing problems and capable to research smart and effective ways to deal with them.
    • Strong relationship and communication skills: ability to influence, engage with and represent the interest of a variety of stakeholders (both internally as well as externally). Ability of working in an intercultural environment.
    • Creativity. Capacity to think outside the box. Resilient and innovative in the face of challenges.

    High level of autonomy and personal leadership. Leading by example, hands-on, entrepreneurial spirit

    Key Responsibilities

    • All aspects related to internal and external corporate communications, inclusive of strategy development, crisis communications and agency (PR and crisis) relationships. (25%)

    Sustainability insights and data management (20%):

    • Measure McCain's sustainability performance: keeping track of what McCain is doing to become more sustainable, through measuring and keeping track of sustainability KPIs.
    • Comply with customer requests related to sustainability data and impact on products.
    • CSR data-analytics: understanding the social and environmental impacts that McCain (and its suppliers) has on society and the risks it might represent. Analyzing the sustainability data, distilling insights and learnings, formulating scenarios to improve.

    Sustainability Roadmap Coordinator (30%):

    • Coordinating the effective implementation and progress behind the local sustainability roadmapcommitments and key initiatives in collaboration with the functional leaders across all pillars (Ag, Ops, R&D, communities). Organizing follow-up meetings with functional pillar leads and ensure accountability, raise issues where needed, facilitate resolution.
    • Reporting regular progress behind McCain’s sustainability commitments and initiatives to local/global leadership, including the Be Good Do Good council.

    Project-management (25%):

    • Develop and coordinate community-development projects and partnerships: supporting implementation of the project, ensuring the project objectives are met, the project is completed on time and within budget and that, every partner involved is doing their job properly, with high standards of quality.
    • Develop and coordinate local sustainability ambassador program, enabling local employees to become actors on McCain’s sustainability journey. For example organizing information sharing (e.g. lunch & learn), activation of internal sustainability campaigns (e.g. office zero waste initiative), share local stories to publish on the McCaintranet.
    • Enabling customer sustainability partnerships, leveraging local sustainability initiatives with local customers to strengthen our differentiating value propositions and brand.
    • Supporting the internal and external communication of McCain’s sustainability initiatives
