Master Loader - Ekurhuleni (East Rand) at Unique Personnel

Job Summary:

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Master Loader to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the safe and efficient loading and offloading of materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and other vehicles. The Master Loader will work closely with the logistics team to ensure the proper handling of cargo, contributing to the smooth flow of construction operations.

Tasks will include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely load and unload construction materials, equipment, and tools from trucks, ensuring proper handling and storage.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and other heavy machinery to assist in loading and unloading tasks.
• Ensure that all cargo is properly secured to prevent damage during transit.
• Maintain a clean and organized loading area, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Inspect materials and equipment for any damage or defects before loading or unloading.
• Work closely with site supervisors and other team members to ensure materials are delivered to the correct location on-site.
• Communicate effectively with truck drivers and logistics personnel to coordinate loading/unloading schedules.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Assist in inventory management and tracking of materials and equipment as they are moved to and from the site.
• Perform regular maintenance and checks on loading equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Maintain detailed records of loading and unloading activities, including quantities and descriptions of materials handled.

Inherent Requirements    
Qualifications:

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Proven experience in loading and offloading materials, particularly in the construction or logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and other loading machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, including bills of lading and delivery schedules.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Valid forklift operator certification or equivalent preferred.
