Material Control Manager at Freedom Stationery (Pty) LTD

Key Functions & Responsibilities

As the Material Control Manager, you will lead the planning, storage, and movement of materials to support high-volume manufacturing:

• Inventory Management: Maintain precise inventory records through cycle counts and audits; manage stock levels to eliminate shortages and minimize excess.
• Planning: Align material availability with production schedules and forecast future requirements to meet operational goals.
• Supply Chain & Procurement: Oversee purchasing activities, manage vendor relationships, and ensure the timely delivery of raw materials.
• Logistics & Compliance: Direct shipping, receiving, and internal distribution while ensuring strict adherence to ISO and safety standards.
• Process Optimization: Analyze supply chain data to drive cost-saving initiatives and improve overall workflow efficiency.

Requirements

We are looking for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses: 

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven track record in materials management or supply chain leadership in a manufacturing environment.
• Technical Savvy: High proficiency in ERP systems (Syspro.) and inventory management software.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong forecasting, data analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
• Leadership: Experience managing subordinate supervisors and collaborating across departments (Engineering, Production, and Purchasing).
