Materials Planner - Warehouse Department - Gauteng (Johannesburg) (170420) at Diplomat Distributors

Key Responsibilities:
To ensure stock availability as per the forecast, thereby enabling and supporting the sales team to achieve their targets.
A clear understanding and working knowledge of Supply Chain Coordinator
duties, in which the following will have to be executed:

• Ensure supply chain coordination is executed cost effectively.
• Contribute to the cost saving initiatives of the company.
• Create purchase orders and communicate to the vendors.
• Utilise stock models and warehouse space as inputs to create purchase orders.
• Plan all deliveries with the vendors.
• Validate stock models created by Supply Chain coordinator based on the annual forecast as well as warehousing constraints.
• Oversee purchase orders though controlling errors and improving accuracy.
• Liaise with the receiving manager to plan for the receiving of stock.
• Validate calculated stock per day per region based on the data extracted from JDA.
• Manage the Daily Order Well releasing based in line with CFR and Time to Market guidelines.
• Maximise efficiency by maintaining the case filled rate for customers.
• Manage any exceptions/challenges in supply chain coordination.
• Ensure stock models are maintained based on the stock number agreed upon to support any additional sales orders.
• Take responsibility for self-development through self-study, identification of learning opportunities.

Position Requirements:

• Completed Matric or equivalent, accredited by SAQA.
• Relevant certification/degree/accreditation in SCM/logistics/material planning.
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience within the FMCG environment.
• Fully computer literate, with Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of SAP.
• Strong analytical, negotiation & planning skills.
• Experience in analysing non-standard databases and creation of non-standard reporting tools.
• Knowledge and experience in JDA planning software is required.
• Basic understanding of Forecasting and demand planning concepts.
• Pro-active with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
