We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering team within the mining sector. This is an opportunity for a motivated professional to play a key role in delivering world-class mechanical designs for large-scale projects.
Requirements
Minimum of 8 years’ relevant design experience.
EPCM project exposure essential.
Mine site and materials handling experience advantageous.
Strong mechanical systems design knowledge (conveyors, crushers, etc.).
Proficiency in plant equipment layouts (pumps, tanks, compressors, buildings, etc.).
3D modelling expertise in AutoCAD 2D/3D, Inventor, and Navisworks.
In-depth knowledge of ISO, ASME, SANS, and drafting standards.
Develop complex 3D models and detailed 2D drawings for plant equipment, layouts, civil/structural elements, and material handling components.
Prepare mechanical equipment, piping, and plant layout designs.
Ensure designs comply with industry codes (ASME, ISO, SANS) and client specifications.
Collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure integrated, fit-for-purpose solutions.
Produce and manage design deliverables including GA drawings, BOMs, isometrics, and fabrication drawings.
