As Mechanical Engineer you will be joining our Port Elizabeth team responsible for mechanical design and technical documentation on various equipment for new and existing markets. We have a culture characterised by a desire to share knowledge, collaborate and create a good working environment.
The Mechanical Engineering Team consists of Mechanical designers, Mechanical responsibles and Mechanical senior personnel. The department is a centre of competency for 2D- and 3D mechanical design focusing on delivering at the right time, the right quality and according to budget.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform detail design according to NOV guidelines
Develop drawings for production
Collaborate with internal disciplines such as electrical, hydraulic, calculation, controls and technical safety
Participate in the preparation of general project documentation
Participate in technical clarifications towards workshop/subcontractor/site
Keep up to date with regulations and regulatory requirements
Qualifications And Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree preferably within Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architect or Mechatronics (Essential)
Experience with mechanical design (machine elements, tolerances, material selection, welding, etc.) (Essential)
Skills
Good understanding of mechanical construction methods
Experience with CAD systems, 2D and 3D (Inventor, SolidWorks, NX, Acad, Creo etc.)
Good collaboration skills
Experience from the Oil and Gas industry, Automotive, Mining or Process Manufacturing is preferred
Positive, skilled person with good ability to work both independently and together with others
