Medical Lab Scientist: Microbiology Night Shift (7 Days on /7Days off) - Cape Town at Ampath

Purpose of Position:

• To process specimens according to set criteria and standards on all benches in the Microbiology Laboratory and to provide training to the employees on all benches.

Requirements:

• BSc Degree Microbiology / Degree in Bachelor of Science Medical Laboratory Sciences (Required), HPCSA registration as Scientist / Technologist (Required)

Required Experience:

• 18 months experiential learning in Microbiology Medical Laboratory

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse specimens for molecular tests for the biofire and genexpert., Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath., Perform accreditation and Quality Control related tasks to ensure standards are upheld., Perform general tasks in order to ensure that best practice is upheld within the laboratory., Perform Material Management tasks in order to ensure effective control over stock and to ensure sufficient stock levels at all times., Perform receiving and resulting tasks on the Meditech system in order to ensure correct handling, preparing and recording of specimen and results., Perform safety related tasks in order to ensure that the relevant safety protocol is upheld., Process specimens on benches in order to ensure sufficient delivery of results
