MBChB or a relevant qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner. Registration with HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner current annual registration.
Grade 1 no experience after registration as Medical Practitioner with the HPCSA in respect of South African qualified employees.
Grade 2 minimum of 5 years appropriate experience as Medical Practitioner after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner in respect of South African qualified employees.
Grade 3 minimum of 10 years appropriate experience as a Medical Practitioner after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner in respect of South African qualified employees.
Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Primaries will be an added advantage.
Duties :
To provide efficient and effective clinical care within the provision of tertiary hospital service package.
To provide optimum quality health care to patients. Provide Peri-operative Anaesthesia care to patients Improve theatre utilization and Reduce theatre cancellations.
Guide, support and supervise junior staff towards management of patients. Ensure compliance to all relevant legislation, policies and protocols and proper record keeping.
Work as a team with all staff. To perform commuted overtime in order to provide a 24hr clinical service. To ensure multi-disciplinary teamwork.
To ensure continuous training and education of the interns and students. To assist in departmental cost-efficiency practices. Ensure completion of Anaesthesia records and report on adverse events to the Specialists.
To prepare for DA Exams by attending academic meetings within the department and externally.
