Appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
Registration certificate with HPCSA as an Independent Practitioner and current registration with HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
Grade 1 None after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.
Grade 2 A minimum of 5 years appropriate experience as Medical Officer after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.
Grade 3 A minimum of 10 years appropriate experience as Medical Officer after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.
Duties :
Offer comprehensive medical care to Internal Medicine patients-general/sub-specialties /out-patients and in-patients.
Deal with referrals and transfers from level 1,2 and 3 facilities from the Hospital drainage areas. Daily ward rounds in the medical wards, level 1 (problems) and daily in-patients and out patients care.
See consultations from other departments, writing meticulous discharge summaries for all patient. Run medical out-patients and sub-specialty clinics.
Up-referral of properly worked up, appropriate patients to sub-specialties. Down-referral of all stable patients to level 1 clinics. Outreach level 2 and level 3 Hospitals
