Grade I Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with HPCSA as a Medical Officer.
No experience required after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.
Grade II Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the HPCSA as Medical Officer. Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Officer.
A minimum of 5 years’ appropriate experience as Medical Officer after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.
Grade III Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the HPCSA as Medical Officer. Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Officer.
A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience as Medical Officer after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner. Patient care, service rendering, teaching , research and administration.
Duties :
Clinical assessment and management of patients. Participation in all the Ear, Nose and Throat department in respect of administration, teaching and research. Liason, communication and cooperation with other disciplines in the Steve Biko Academic Hospital.
Examination and treatment of patients with recognized ENT pathology. Arrange for appropriate and optima treatment and care management.
Gather medical/scientific data. Teach medical students, nurses and other health care personnel. Perform necessary tests in OPD ward.
Perform professional and middle management tasks in the department of Ear, Nose and Throat. Surgery of a tertiary academic hospital.
Successful candidate will be responsible for the rendering of clinical service and surgical patient care for in-patient and out-patient which includes after-hours work (weekdays and weekends).
