    Registrar (Medical) Plastic Surgery

    Requirements :

    • MBChB or equivalent. Current registration with the HPCSA as an independent Medical Practioner. Surgical Primaries and Intermediates will be an advantage.
    • The many and diverse functions of this positions encompass aspects of patient care, education, research (must participate in original basic or clinical research). The service aspects include ensuring correct surgical treatment of patients.
    • The academic programme will include patient care presentations, subject discussions and attendance of the post graduate academic programme.
    • This position is intended for grooming of candidates who are pursuing a surgical career.

    Duties :

    • Locate work in a public service context. Plan & organize work to organise work to achieve objectives that meet service standards. Lead a team to solve workplace problems and conflit. Identify performance requirements and improve work team performance. Manage own performance and development. Communicate in the work place and work team.
    • Lead change in team in the workplace. Produce data and analyze statistics for workplace operations in the department- Logbook. Deliver and monitor client service. Secure & allocate resources and a budget to achieve workplace objectives

    Dentist Developmental Post Grade 1/2/3 (24-Months Contract)

    Requirements :

    • Registration with HPCSA as a Dentist in the category of independent practice.
    • At least two years post community service experience as a Dentist preferably with exposure to undergraduate teaching and training.
    • Applicants must have proven interest in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.
    • Be registered for or hold an MSc Dent Degree/equivalent or postgraduate qualification in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology will be an added advantage

    Duties :

    • Dentist will be responsible for clinical service rendering including extended clinical platforms, teaching and training, conduct research and participate in all departmental activities and related administration.

    Requirements :

    Duties :

    • Clinical assessment and management of patients. Participation in all the Ear, Nose and Throat department in respect of administration, teaching and research. Liason, communication and cooperation with other disciplines in the Steve Biko Academic Hospital. Examination and treatment of patients with recognized ENT pathology.
    • Arrange for appropriate and optima treatment and care management. Gather medical/scientific data. Teach medical students, nurses and other health care personnel. Perform necessary tests in OPD ward.
    • Perform professional and middle management tasks in the department of Ear, Nose and Throat. Surgery of a tertiary academic hospital. Successful candidate will be responsible for the rendering of clinical service and surgical patient care for in-patient and out-patient which includes after-hours work (weekdays and weekends).

    Medical Specialist Grade 1 - 3 [Internal Medicine]

    Requirements :

    • Senior/National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and MBChB or equivalent certificate, MMed [Internal Medicine] or FCP [SA] or equivalent. Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa for Independent Practice [Medical Specialist].
    • Medical Specialist Grade 1 none experience after registration with HPCSA,
    • Medical Specialist Grade 2 - A minimum of 05 years experience after registration with HPCSA and
    • Medical Specialist Grade 3 - A minimum of 10 years experience after registration with HPCSA in a normal Speciality. Proof of current registration with the HPCSA from 01 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
    • Advantages: Proven ability to work with all Unit members e.g. Endocrinologists, Nephrologists, Gastroenterologists, Rheumatologists, Pulmonologists, Infectious Diseases, Specialist Physicians, Registrars, MO's, Students, Interns and fulfill the University criteria in doing clinical research. Good people skills and be able to take the lead in a team. Continuous education and evaluation in the clinical setting for General Internal Medicine.

    Duties :

    • In-and outpatient service delivery in General Internal Medicine: Ward rounds, out-patient clinics, consultations and call as per call roster. Implement and monitor adherence to National Core Standards (norms and standards). Reduce medical litigation by exercising good clinical ethics. Participating in a multidisciplinary team to manage and care for patients.
    • Ensure that administration, ICD 10 coding and record keeping are done. Interview, investigate diagnoses and oversee the treatment of patients.
    • Supervising and completing of Medico-Legal documents timeously (e.g death certificates). To act as domain trainer for the Interns. Participation and attendance of Mortality and Morbidity meetings as well as Post Graduate meetings. Willing to do commuted overtime rendering of after-hours (night, weekend and public holiday) duties for General Medicine and the Medical ICU.
    • Academic: Supervision of Registrars, MO's, Interns and students in the clinical setting. Conducting clinical training, ward rounds and giving small group tutorials as well as lectures.
    • Teach, train and examine under-and post-graduate students. Evaluate and assess rotating registrars, Interns and students. Act as guardian for assigned registrar. Research: Active participation in research and publishing of articles.

    Professional Nurse General - PNA2 Grade 1

    Requirements :

    • Diploma/Degree in nursing (Basic R171, R174 or R425) qualification or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional/Registered Nurse.
    • Registration with SANC as Professional/Registered Nurse. Good communication skills, report writing skills, facilitation skills, coordination skills, planning and organizational skills, problem solving skills, information management skills.
