An appropriate minimum qualification (MBChB/MBBCh) that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner. Proof of current registration with HPCSA as an independent medical practitioner for the year 2025/2026.
BLS/ Neonatal Resus/PALS,1-year experience in paediatrics inclusive of time spent in paediatric department during community service, Ability to work commuted overtime to ensure continuous and uninterrupted patient care.
Demonstration of good working ethics, including reliability, discipline, the capacity to work under pressure.
Capability to function independently as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Applicants must be solution-oriented and possess sound decision-making skills. Must be available to resume duties immediately.
Duties :
As a Medical Officer in Paediatrics Department, the candidate will be expected to rotate between working in Neonatal unit, General Peads, casualty, Neonatal ICU, Peads ICU and HIV Clinic, Paediatrics out patients and do calls in all mentioned.
The candidate will be responsible for the Comprehensive clinical management of the patients. He/ she will be required to perform clinical work and do presentation.
The desired candidate will be required to be a role model and clinical mentor to junior doctors and associated clinical staff.
