    Medical Officer - Surgery

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12, MBChB, Current registration with HPCSA as an independent Medical Practitioner Proof of current registration with HPCSA for the year 2025/2026. One year of experience in general surgery following the completion of community service.
    • Ability to work commuted overtime to ensure continuous and uninterrupted patient care. Demonstration of good working ethics, including reliability, discipline, the capacity to work under pressure, and the ability to follow instructions from the consultants. Capability to function independently as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Applicants must be solution-oriented and possess sound decision-making skills. Completion of surgical courses and CMSA will be regarded as advantageous.

    Duties :

    • Deliver evidence-based, quality patient care. Manage general surgery patients in the Emergency Department, ICU, ward, and SOPD, which includes daily ward rounds, resuscitation, examination, and perioperative management.
    • Participate in the training of interns and junior medical officers. Attend relevant administrative meetings, including morbidity and mortality meetings, academic presentations, and other training sessions within the hospital.
    • Complete medico-legal documentation promptly (e.g., death certificates). Ensure that departmental administration and record keeping are maintained
