    Medical Specialist Grade 1 To 3 (Radiology)

    Requirements :

    • Minimum educational qualification: Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent. MBBCh/ MBCHB, Medical Specialist in Radiology – MMED Radiology and FC (Rad) and active registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Radiology.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Grade 1- None after registration with HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Radiology.
    • Grade 2- A minimum of 5 years’ appropriate experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Radiology.
    • Grade 3- A minimum of 10 years appropriate experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Radiology.

    Duties :

    • Inherent requirements of the job: Participate in the after-hours call system (Commuted overtime is compulsory). Competencies (knowledge/skills): Excellent team player. Good clinical expertise in general radiology. Good record of clinical governance, research, teaching, and training of medical officers at all levels in Diagnostic Radiology.
    • Excellent managerial, interpersonal, leadership, administrative, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    (KEY RESULT AREAS/OUTPUTS):

    • Provide supervision of clinical service delivery within the Radiology Division to ensure excellent clinical services of diagnosis, investigations, and treatment in inpatient, outpatient and emergency contexts. Take overall responsibility for the comprehensive Diagnostic Imaging Radiology service at Pholosong Regional Hospital, reporting to the Clinical manager.
    • Responsible for a strong academic program within the wider Radiology teaching program, including relevant research and continuing medical education for staff. Liaise and collaborate with all surgical and medical disciplines to support the delivery of best practices for patient care.
    • Responsible for corporate governance and management activities, ensuring quality outputs and optimal use of resources. Communications skills including report generation, letter writing, consultation, verbal skills, liaison with support service, nursing and Professions Allied to Medicine. Coordinate and manage afterhours support for Diagnostic Radiology services.
    • Coordinate and participate in outreach programs to the facility’s drainage area.

    Medical Specialist Grade 1 To 3(Obstetrics & Gynaecology)

    Requirements :

    • Assist with the maintenance of standards of care and implementation of quality improvement programmes within the department. Conduct self-directed learning to expand knowledge base and skills.

    Medical Specialist Mental Health x1 – Grade 1

    Requirements :

    Duties :

    • Management of services within the Mental Health Unit, both clinical and administrative. Provide effective and efficient in and outpatient mental health care at Pholosong Hospital including assessment, treatment and monitoring of psychiatric patients.
    • Report to the clinical manager on developments and performance of the unit. Development and implementation of evidence–based clinical protocols and guidelines. Partake in clinical audits. Implement and monitor adherence to national core standard (norms and standards).
    • Provide outreach to facilities/services in the catchment area including, but not restricted, participation in the multidisciplinary team discussions of patients in surrounding clinics offering mental health services. Completion of relevant medico-legal documents timeously and reduce medical litigation by exercising good clinical ethos.
    • Liaise with referral centres for patients who need further care and investigations. Supervise, train and mentor medical officers and other junior members of staff.

    Psychologist Grade 1

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a clinical Psychologist. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit current proof of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Psychologist in any of the identified registration categories.
    • Appropriate /recognizable years of experience as a psychologist after registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Clinical Psychologist. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit all relevant documents.

    Duties :

    • Render effective psychological services to the hospital. Making assessments and interpretations based on biopsychosocial evaluations, psychometric test, semi-structured interviews, therapy sessions and neuropsychological assessments. Collaborating with other healthcare providers to evaluate the medical and physical condition of clients.
    • Formulating and creating personalized interventions, treatments and management plans for clients. Assessing clients` risk, considering their mental health and social needs when performing interventions.
    • Interacting with clients and other MDT members regarding performing interventions. Employing various treatment methods such as psychotherapy, hypnosis behavior modification, stress reduction therapy and psychodrama. Measuring effectiveness and implementing changes where required.
    • Ensuring the maintenance and safe storage of accurate program and client records, and all other pertinent documents. Maintaining confidentiality of clients` treatment and records in accordance with HPCSA. Participating in clinical training seminars and mentoring team members and psychological counsellors. Working towards positioning the agency as a pioneer in psychological interventions.
    • Experienced with specialist psychological assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health problems of varying severity and complexity. Proficient with psychological therapies, risk assessment, training, and supervision.
    • Proficient with planning and performing psychological interventions. Current awareness of developments in relevant fields. Ability to maintain and complete clinical documentation consistently. DATA collection and collation, monthly reports.

    Physiotherapist Grade 1 – 3

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualification as a Physiotherapist. Currently registered with the HPCSA as an independent Practice Physiotherapist.
    • A minimum of one year’s experience after registration with the HPCSA as Physiotherapist.

    Occupational Theraphy Grade 1 – 3

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualification that allows for the required registration with the HPCSA as Occupational Therapist. Registration with the HPCSA (proof of current registration must be attached)
    • A minimum of one year’s experience after registration with the HPCSA as Occupational Therapist. Experience in vocational rehabilitation and report writing will be an added advantage.

    Head Of Unit- Accident & Emergency

    Requirements :

    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery plus Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Emergency Medicine with minimum of 3 years’ appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist.
    • The person should have wide-ranging experience in managing emergency services. Extensive and appropriate experience in all aspects of clinical care, clinical department administration, evidence of teaching and research.
    • Knowledge, skills and competencies; Proven Management ability, sound communication skills, leadership skills, decision making and interpersonal skills. Financial and Human Resource and Management. Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. An added advantage would be research experience and publications in peer reviewed journals.

    Duties :

    • Effective overall management of the Accident and Emergency unit. Assess and ensure good quality clinical service delivery by: development and implementation of guidelines; providing training and support to students, medical interns, community service doctors, nursing staff, medical officers and specialists in the unit. Management and control of equipment.
    • Optimize use of Human and other resources. Participate in relevant hospital and management committees. Encourage and support relevant research and publications. Contribute to electronic databases for research purposes. Strategize and implement outreach programmes. Provide after hour specialist services.

    Medical Officer - Surgery

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12, MBChB, Current registration with HPCSA as an independent Medical Practitioner Proof of current registration with HPCSA for the year 2025/2026. One year of experience in general surgery following the completion of community service.
    • Ability to work commuted overtime to ensure continuous and uninterrupted patient care. Demonstration of good working ethics, including reliability, discipline, the capacity to work under pressure, and the ability to follow instructions from the consultants. Capability to function independently as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Applicants must be solution-oriented and possess sound decision-making skills. Completion of surgical courses and CMSA will be regarded as advantageous.

    Duties :

    • Deliver evidence-based, quality patient care. Manage general surgery patients in the Emergency Department, ICU, ward, and SOPD, which includes daily ward rounds, resuscitation, examination, and perioperative management.
    • Participate in the training of interns and junior medical officers. Attend relevant administrative meetings, including morbidity and mortality meetings, academic presentations, and other training sessions within the hospital.
    • Complete medico-legal documentation promptly (e.g., death certificates). Ensure that departmental administration and record keeping are maintained
