Medical Officer Urology (Far East Rand Hospital) at SADOCS

Requirements :

• An appropriate minimum qualification (MBChB/MBBCh) that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
• Proof of current registration with HPCSA as an independent medical practitioner for the year 2026/2027.
• BLS/ATLS/ACLS. 1 year experience in Urology/General Surgery/ Emergency Department inclusive of time spent in surgical department during community service.
• Ability to work compulsory commuted overtime in Emergency Department. Demonstration of good working ethics, including reliability, discipline, the capacity to work under pressure.
• Capability to function independently as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Applicants must be solution-oriented and possess sound decision-making skills.

Duties :

• The candidate will be expected to do basic urological procedures: catheterization, assisting in scrotal exploration, urology ward work and general assistance in theatre.
• Work after hours in ED COMPULSORY, the candidate will be responsible for the Comprehensive clinical management of the patients. He/ she will be required to perform clinical work and do presentation.
• The desired candidate will be required serve as a role model and clinical mentor to junior doctors and associated clinical staff.
