An appropriate minimum qualification (MBChB/MBBCh) that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
Proof of current registration with HPCSA as an independent medical practitioner for the year 2026/2027.
BLS/ATLS/ACLS. 1 year experience in Urology/General Surgery/ Emergency Department inclusive of time spent in surgical department during community service.
Ability to work compulsory commuted overtime in Emergency Department. Demonstration of good working ethics, including reliability, discipline, the capacity to work under pressure.
Capability to function independently as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Applicants must be solution-oriented and possess sound decision-making skills.
Duties :
The candidate will be expected to do basic urological procedures: catheterization, assisting in scrotal exploration, urology ward work and general assistance in theatre.
Work after hours in ED COMPULSORY, the candidate will be responsible for the Comprehensive clinical management of the patients. He/ she will be required to perform clinical work and do presentation.
The desired candidate will be required serve as a role model and clinical mentor to junior doctors and associated clinical staff.
