Duties :
Provide a quality cost effective and efficient 24-hours Urology services in keeping with Batho-Pele Principles. Management of all designated areas of responsibility within the Urology department at Tembisa Hospital, conducting of urology clinics, ward rounds and consultations to other disciplines,). Drawing up of protocols for patients and wards/clinic management.
Performance of procedures relevant to the discipline. Assist with the training and guidance of Medical Interns, Junior Medical Officers and other staff categories working in Urology Department.
Maintain accurate and appropriate health records in accordance with the above. Participation in the academic programs of the department. Performing regular audits of the department.
Liaising with the hospital management and other agencies to ensure the efficient provision of clinical Urology services in the hospital and district. The Medical Officer will work with the General Surgery Department and perform overtime calls in General Surgery and Trauma.
