Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner, HPCSA registration as an independent medical practitioner.
Proof of current HPCSA registration and any three of the following short courses: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ITLS, ATLS and/or APLS.
Emergency Medicine primaries, Dip PEC (SA), EMPRET ECG Course, Basic Ultrasound Course or 6 months under an Emergency Medicine Specialist would be an added advantage.
Duties :
The incumbent will rotate at accredited training sites to gain practical exposure and work experience in the practice of Accident and Emergency over 4 years.
Rotations will be 6 months at a registered site supervised by the Emergency Medical Specialist.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in site-specific work-related activities which include conducting overtime.
The candidate will also be expected to participate in teaching, academic and research activities of the department.
The University of Pretoria will facilitate the completion of the MMed in Accident and Emergency.
