    Medical Registrar: Accident And Emergency

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner. Current Registration with the HPCSA as an independent Medical Practitioner.
    • No experience required after registration with HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner. Fully completed new Z83. Curriculum vitae (CV) with three references.
    • Following will be added advantage: Diploma in PEC and FCEM Part 1. South African citizenship or residency. Knowledge and experience in Medical Emergencies.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work under pressure. Ultrasound courses, equivalent qualification, research, and other Emergency Medicine-related courses.

    Duties :

    • Perform duties according to guidelines from the Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Witwatersrand, and Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. Perform Commuted Overtime.
    • Clinical training, teaching, and assisting in the examination of undergraduate and postgraduate students. The incumbent will be responsible for interviewing, investigating, diagnosing, and overseeing the treatment of patient-related administrative duties. Participation in departmental meetings, journal clubs, case presentations, lectures, and ward rounds. Ensure that administration and record keeping is done in the department. Undertaking research. Attending and presenting at academic meetings.
    • Encourage good working relationships between colleagues and departments. Availability for ongoing assessments. Signing annual performance agreements and availability for quarterly reviews.
