Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Specialist in anaesthesia. Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in anaesthesia and proof of current registration. No experience required after registration with the HPCSA as specialist anaesthetist.
Duties :
Ensure effective and efficient anaesthesiology service delivery. Co-ordinate and supervise clinical care and treatment. Provide administrative support to the Head of the Unit. Provide guidance on issues pertaining to academic development of registrars and medical officers. Interact with the hospital’s nursing and administrative departments to ensure efficient running of the institution’s operating theatres. Uphold the teaching, research and service values of the University of Witwatersrand Department of Anaesthesiology. Assessment and development of junior staff.
