Medical Specialist Grade 1 – 3 Radiology (Pholosong Hospital)
Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent. MBBCh/MBCHB, Medical Specialist in Radiology – MMED Radiology and FC (Rad) and active registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Radiology.
EXPERIENCE:
Grade 1 – None after registration with HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Radiology.
Grae 2 – A minimum of 5 years, appropriate experience after registration with the HPCSA as a medical Specialist in Radiology.
Grade 3 – A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist in Radiology. Participate in the after-hours call system (Commuted overtime is compulsory).
Competencies (knowledge/skills): Excellent team player. Good clinical expertise in general radiology. Good record of clinical governance, research, teaching, and training of medical officers at all levels in Diagnostic Radiology.
Excellent managerial, interpersonal, leadership, administrative, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Duties :
Provide supervision of clinical service delivery within the Radiology Division to ensure excellent clinical services of diagnosis, investigations, and treatment in inpatient, outpatient and emergency contexts.
Take overall responsibility for the comprehensive Diagnostic Imaging Radiology service at Pholosong Reginal Hospital, reporting to the Clinical Manager.
Responsible for a strong academic program within the wider Radiology teaching program, including relevant research and continuing medical education for staff. Liaise and collaborate with all surgical and medical disciplines to support the delivery of best practices for patient care.
Responsible for corporate governance and management activities, ensuring quality output and optimal use of resources.
Communications skills include report generation, letter writing consultation, verbal skills, liaison with support service, nursing and Professions Allied of Medicine. Coordinate and manage after-hours support for Diagnostic Radiology services. Coordinate and participate in outreach programs to the facility’s drainage area.
