Medical Specialist Grade 1 – 3 Session [Anaesthesiology]
Senior/National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery plus MMed (Anaes) or FCA (SA). Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist Anaesthesiology. Proof of current registration with the HPCSA from 01 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.
Medical Specialist Grade 1 no experience after registration with HPCSA,
Medical Specialist Grade 2 - A minimum of 05 years’ experience after registration with HPCSA and
Medical Specialist Grade 3 - A minimum of 10 years’ experience after registration with HPCSA in a normal Speciality.
Experience in teaching and learning, supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students.
This is a joint appointment between the University of Pretoria (Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Anaesthesiology) and Steve Biko Academic Hospital.
Duties :
The successful candidate will provide clinical services and consultancy work to Steve Biko Academic Hospital as allocated. The incumbent will be responsible for teaching and training of under and post graduate students, including medical interns and medical officers. The candidate will participate in the departmental outreach programmes and research activities.
