An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ENT). Current registration as an independent Specialist Otorhinolaryngologist with the HPCSA. Previous experience will be an added advantage.
Duties :
Provide specialist Otorhinolaryngology- Head and Neck service at Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital as well as at Helen Joseph Hospital on a fulltime basis, including but not limited to: ENT Outpatient Clinic, Theatre, and Wards (In-patients). Do outreach to Peripheral hospitals if/when necessary. Provide afterhours care in accordance with Commuted overtime contract in the ENT Department.
Training and supervision of junior doctors (Medical Officers and Registrars) in Otorhinolaryngology working in the department. Teaching of medical students, supervision of student exams and assisting in setting up student exams. Conduct, assist and stimulate research within the department and supervise Registrar’s MMed’s.
Attend equipment meetings at Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital and Helen Joseph Hospital. Keep departmental equipment audit up to date and order equipment for the department.
