Confirmation of fellowship results from the College of Neuro-surgery in the College of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA).
For Grade1. 0- 5 years’ experience as Medical Specialist. For Grade 2. 5-10 years’ experience as Medical Specialist. Grade 3: 10 years and above experience as Medical Specialist.
Duties :
The incumbent will be responsible to investigate, diagnose and oversee the treatment of neuro-surgical patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings and render a comprehensive neurosurgical service. Supervision and teaching of junior medical staff.
Willing to do commuted overtime and rendering of after-hours (night, weekend and public holiday) duties to provide continuous uninterrupted care of patients. Attendance of relevant administrative and academic meetings. Participation in the academic program in the hospital and all activities of the discipline in relation to teaching and research. Ensure proper and accurate record keeping as legally and ethically required. Reporting to the Clinical Manager on service delivery, clinical audits and where necessary quality improvement plans.
Assist the Clinical Manager to monitor, implement, adhere and comply with National Core Standards within the department. Preparing and writing of reports.
Assist the Clinical Manager with administrative responsibilities.
