As the Microsoft Product Owner, you will own the strategic lifecycle management of our Investec Microsoft technology ecosystem M365, Azure, and related services and drive user orientation to unlock their full value. You'll collaborate across IT, procurement, security, operations, and business units to define vision, prioritize work, and ensure our organization realizes the maximum benefit from Microsoft tools.
Key Responsibilities
Define and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap for M365, Azure, and associated Microsoft services including but not limited to D365, Power Platform, Intune, Entra ID, Copilot
Align roadmap priorities with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and emerging industry trends.
Gather, analyze, and prioritize feature requests and enhancements from stakeholders.
Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed requirements for development, configuration, or integration.
Serve as the ITS primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, security, SAM, Procurement and external partners.
Facilitate regular product demos, roadmap reviews, and status updates.
Coordinate release schedules, change management, and deployment activities for new features, updates, and patches.
Work with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure quality, performance, and security standards are met.
Oversee the entire product lifecycle: ideation → pilot → general availability → deprecation.
Communicate upcoming and new features and evangelize use
Drive user adoption through training programs, documentation, and best-practice guidance.
Design and deliver onboarding, workshops, and “lunch-and-learn” sessions that help end users and stakeholders understand and leverage M365 and Azure capabilities.
Develop playbooks and quick-start guides that surface hidden features and integration patterns to maximize productivity, collaboration, and cost-efficiency.
Ensure Microsoft environments Adheres to corporate governance, security policies, and regulatory standards (e.g. GDPR, ISO 27001).
Collaborate with cybersecurity and risk teams to implement identity, access, and data protection controls.
Manage license entitlements vs. usage and drive license optimization in collaboration with the Investec Software Asset Management team.
Define KPIs and success metrics (utilization rates, user satisfaction, cost efficiency).
Analyze telemetry, usage patterns, and feedback to identify opportunities for performance tuning and cost optimization.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
3+ years' experience in a Product Owner/Manager role, ideally within enterprise IT or managed services.
Demonstrable experience managing Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms, including configuration, governance, and lifecycle processes.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and hands-on experience writing user stories and managing backlogs.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences.
Proven track record of delivering software or platform enhancements on time and within budget.
