Mid/Senior UX/UI Designer at Now Boarding

POSITION SUMMARY
An exciting career opportunity exists for a meticulous UX/UI Designer in a global Digital Product Design Studio. At Now Boarding we represent the user, challenge thinking and use beautiful design to craft meaningful digital experiences. With offices in Cape Town and Zurich, we work with a wide variety of South African and international clients across various sectors including Fintech, Insurtech, Edutech, E-commerce and SaaS. We work in a lean and agile environment like to move fast, and have fun while doing it.We are looking for a driven and experienced UX/UI Designer with a fascination for usability and a passion for turning ideas into thoroughly-considered digital products that make a real impact. Candidates must have 4+ years of relevant experience and the ability to create simple solutions to complex problems. A basic understanding of development principles would also be advantageous.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS 
We’d like you to:

• Help clients define their user, business and product goals
• Develop User Journeys, Wireframes and UI Design that clearly illustrate how digital products function and look
• Present UI mockups and prototypes to internal teams and key stakeholders
• Design user interface elements, like menus, search fields, buttons, tabs and widgets
• Create original design elements (e.g. illustrations, images, sketches and tables)
• Identify and troubleshoot UX problems
• Optimise UX based on user feedback and data-learnings
• Adhere to brand style standards on fonts, colours and images
• Prepare and handoff final assets to developers

The Must-Haves:

• Relevant tertiary education
• 4+ years of UX/UI Design experience
• Expert knowledge of user-centred design principles
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Meticulous attention to detail while keeping an eye on the big picture
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to effectively work across multiple projects
• Demonstrable mastery of Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other design tools
• An outstanding body of work demonstrating the successful delivery of innovative interface design solutions for web, desktop applications and/or mobile devices
