Minimum Requirements    

• Grade 12/Standard 10 Technical (Essential/Minimum)
• N3: Engineering Relevant (Essential/Minimum)
• Trade: Millwright MQA/QCTO (Essential/Minimum)
• 2-3 years applicable technical and maintenance experience within a heavy industry, production, mining, or pyro-metallurgical environment (Essential/Minimum)
• Psychometric assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Valid Public Driver's License: Code B (Essential/Minimum)
• Competency in Medium Voltage Switching (Essential/Minimum)
• Completion of Core MQA Modules Assessments and On-the-Job MQA Modules Assessments (Essential/Minimum)
• Proficiency in programming of circuits, panels, PLCs, and related equipment

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)/Mine Health and Safety Acts (MHSA) and all safety regulations.
• Conduct regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs on equipment, ensuring adherence to planned maintenance schedules.
• Program and maintain circuits, panels, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and related equipment according to technical manuals.
• Identify and solve equipment faults and issues while conducting regular testing and monitoring.
• Manage the control and safe operation of medium to high voltage switchgear ensuring adherence to safety standards.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and are in optimal working condition.
• Report and rectify any identified defects or hazardous situations in a timely manner.
• Transfer knowledge and provide guidance to trainees and artisan aides to enhance skill development.
• Plan and secure necessary parts and tools to prevent production delays and ensure continuity in operations.
• Foster a safe work environment by adhering to all health and safety practices and promoting good housekeeping.
