Millwright - Polokwane at RCL Foods

The purpose of the role is to ensure that plant maintenance is done effectively and accurately in such a way to ensure the minimum downtime.

Minimum Requirements   

• Must have a N4 or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering plus trade test.
• Trade Tested Millwright Minimum 5-10 years of post-trade experience working in a production line or FMCG maintenance experience.
• PLC/VSD Drives experience will be an advantage.
• Knowledge in mixers, dividers, proofers and conveyor systems will be an advantage.
• Oven burners and bakery equipment will be an advantage.
• Ability to communicate on all levels.
• Ability to work systematically. Ability to prioritize workload.
• Report writing and analysis. Mentoring apprentices.
• Must be able to work shifts and be available on callouts and standby if required.

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the machines do not deteriorate.
• Inspect drives, motors, belts, bearings, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions following checklists. Be able to comply with Food safety standards, and previous FMCG experience will be an advantage.
• Assemble, install and / or repair, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment on steam and waterlines.
• Ensure that your department complies with all Health and Safety requirements.
• Record maintenance and repair work performed.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Projects and machine installations.
• Accurate completion of administrative forms.
