Description    

• RCL FOODS is seeking to employ a qualified and experienced Millwright to perform routine preventive maintenance and ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the machines do not deteriorate. The role will be based at the Pretoria West Buns and Rolls baking site and report to the Maintenance Foreman.

Minimum Requirements    

• N4 Mechanical/Electrical Engineering plus trade test
• PLC/VSD Drives experience will be an advantage
• Knowledge in mixers, dividers, proofers and conveyor systems
• Oven burners and bakery equipment
• Ability to communicate on all levels.
• Ability to work systematically.
• Ability to prioritize workload.
• Report writing and analysis.
• Mentoring apprentices.
• Must be able to work shifts and be available on callouts and standby if required

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the machines do not deteriorate.
• Inspect drives, motors, belts, bearings, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions following checklists.
• Be able to comply with Food safety standards, and previous FMCG experience will be an advantage
• Assemble, install and / or repair, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment on steam and waterlines
• Ensure that your department complies with all Health and Safety requirements.
• Diagnose and correct mechanical problems.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions.
• Direct and train workers to install, maintain, mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Record maintenance and repair work performed.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
