Mine Planner at Anglo American

Job Description

You will take on a range of different tasks under the direction of your manager. The focus will be on short term mine planning scenario options. Some of your day-to-day responsibilities include the following:

• Corrective action options for identified deviations from plan
• Shaft plans
• Mine technical systems required for mine planning purposes
• Financial and resource modelling
• Medium term mining plans
• Track actual performance against selected scenarios

This role is in the Mining Department and is at a Band 6 level reporting to the Chief Mine Planner.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role you must have:

• Grade 12
• Advanced Survey or Mining qualification

Knowledge & skills

• 5 years’ operational experience in the mining/survey discipline
• 5 years’ experience in mine planning
• Computer literate (strong MS Excel)
• Deswick or MineRP Planning experience (advantageous)
• Valid driver’s license

Physical requirements:

• Fit to work in a Graphic Mine Design environment
