    Social Performance Planning Section Manager

     

    Job Description

    • The purpose of the role is to facilitate the development, implementation, maintenance, integration and management systems at the operations based on the Anglo-American Social Way and the Sustainable Mining Plans.

    Some of your responsibilities will include:

    Safety, Health & Environment

    • Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
    • Act as a safety leader to reinforce a workplace culture where safety and health is paramount.
    • Identify specific risks within working area and adhere to discipline-specific plans/system to avoid these risks.

    Performance & Delivery

    Business Expectations

    • Lead and contribute to the development and defining of the site Social Management Plans in line with the AAP Corporate Affairs strategy and the AASW principles.
    • Support the site in developing strategic AASW priorities and associated KPIs.
    • Implement the systems, management tools and business processes aligned to the business objectives and lead the achievement thereof.

    Operational Planning

    • Contribute to the development and defining of the site Social Management Plan in line with the AAP and Group Corporate Relations & Sustainable Impact strategy.
    • Support the GM and the SPMC and the direct reports in developing strategic priorities and associated KPIs.
    • Coordinate the compilation of AASW SPMC reports to Platinum Business Unit and Group.

    Work Management

    • Coordinate all activities relating to the AASW and consolidate the reporting from all the multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Ensure the team, site management and staff understand the Social Way 3.0 and that all the multi-disciplinary teams are clear of their relevant KPIs and are capacitated accordingly.
    • Lead the process to develop, implement and monitor the site Social Management Plans that are compliant to the requirements of the Social Way.

    Feedback

    • Ongoing tracking and updates of the performance management systems.
    • Continuous assessment of the effectiveness of training and the usage of management tools, systems, reports and escalations.
    • Monitoring and assessments of processes, systems and impact of Social Performance interventions and projects.

    Sustainability & Social

    • Support delivery of the relevant sustainability activities at site level.
    • Contribute to AAP Business Unit-level cross-functional integration on sustainability.
    • Contribute to building relationships with key stakeholders relevant to the discipline at site level, ensuring engagements are consistent with Business Unit and Group sustainability initiatives and standards.

    People & Teams

    • Support the development of, and ultimately implement, a purpose-led, high-performing culture within the teams that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity.

    Compliance

    • Ensure compliance of the discipline with external (legislative, regulatory, permitting) requirements.
    • Ensure compliance of the discipline with Anglo American compliance requirements.
    • Develop required compliance governance in the context of the discipline on a Business Unit level.

    This role is in the Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Impact department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Impact Manager.

    Qualifications

    • Post graduate qualification in Social Sciences degree or equivalent
    • Project Management qualification (advantageous)

    Experience Required

    • At least 5 years’ relevant Social experience.
    • Knowledge of, and proven ability to operate at a senior level.
    • Strong knowledge of development and/or international development.
    • Experience of delivering strategic social management plans for businesses and operations.
    • Experience of managing socio-economic development interventions.
    • Strong foundational knowledge in one or more of these areas: economic analysis, socioeconomic development, value chain development, enterprise development, entrepreneurship.
    • Practical experience of working at site level in developing or developed economies, in a company, consultancy or international development institution.
    • Knowledge of planning and delivering systematic change to a professional practice area, including the development of management systems and related assurance processes.

    SAP Systems Coordinator

    Job Description

    • Act as a role model and reinforce a workplace culture where safety and health for the site is paramount.
    • Review and assess impact of critical risks and monitor effectiveness of critical controls relevant to work area.
    • Identify PUE’s and monitor critical control performance within teams.
    • Create safety reports and manage analysis of KP’Is based on available data.

    Qualifications

    • National Certificate N4 (Engineering Related Studies) or
    • National Certificate in Asset Maintenance Management (NQF Level 5) and
    • SAP PM Certificate is advantageous
    • BW (Business Warehouse) Certificate is advantageous
    • Valid South African Driver’s License essential

    Experience:

    • 3-5 years with SAP PM
    • 3-5 years planning and scheduling experience in mining
    • Winshuttle and Prometheus experience is advantageous

    Shift Supervisor OC (Drilling)

    Job Description

    Your daily duties will include but not limited to:

    Legal, Operational and Standard Compliance:

    • Application of legal, operational and standard compliance with regards to work, machinery and equipment inspections and the recording thereof as stipulated in Section 2.9.2 of the Minerals Act

    Safety Officer

    Job Description

    As a Safety Officer (24 months Fixed Term Contract), you will provide services as required and your resposibilities will include but not limited to:

    • Identify ways to support specific safety, health & sustainability opportunities and risks, ensuring CPM activities comply with all Safety, Health & Environmental requirements.
    • Support the safe execution of work in the CPM environment, performing regular risk assessments, monitoring safety performance, and addressing any risks/issues immediately.

    • Engage with onboarding team on SMMEs busy onboarding to ensure proper assistance is provided.

    SCC Buyer

    Job Description

    • The purpose of the SCC Buyer is to select source of supply for RFQ’s as well as negotiating, placing and expediting Purchase Orders for materials required by Debmarine, DBGS, Namdeb and Namaqualand operations.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Receives, verifies and actions approved purchase requisitions for materials required.
    • Identifies and selects appropriate sources of supply.

    Permit Compliance Coordinator FTC

     

    Job Description

    As our Permit Compliance Coordinator you will collaborate with identification, communication, execution, verification, validation and follow up on implementation of permit condition. You will also be responsible for monitoring of compliance with permits’ condition and commitments by:

    • Developing detailed implementation plan to maintain and monitor permits, including the process by which to identify each individual condition and requirement attached to a permit, and link it to a responsible person and to a timeframe
    • Ensuring the compliance of permits commitments, and keeping permits in good standing.
    • Developing a mitigation plan to close out non-compliance to Permit conditions and commitments.
    • Follow up with Permit Owner to ensure full compliance to Permit Conditions and Commitments.
    • Ensuring the integration of Technical and other teams in the compliance process.
    • Keeping the permitting manager informed about the results of compliance process as well as the potential risk and mitigation measures.
    • Populating obligation register and be responsible for document control to acquire and renew permits.

    This role is in the Permitting Department at a band 6 level and reporting to the Permitting Manager.

    Qualifications

    You will be required to have the following:

    • Diploma/Degree in any of these fields: Environmental Engineer/Management, Law, Mine Engineer, Other Engineering disciplines, SHEQ management, Geologist or related careers
    • 3- 5 years’ working experience in similar positions in the mining/process, energy companies or law firm as well as government
    • Experience in Mining/Construction/Process projects, advising on permitting issues as well as compliance for new/existing projects/activities
    • MS Office and Projects (Isometrix will be an advantage)
    • Must have a driver's licence and own vehicle.

    Mine Planner

     

    Job Description

    You will take on a range of different tasks under the direction of your manager. The focus will be on short term mine planning scenario options. Some of your day-to-day responsibilities include the following:

    • Corrective action options for identified deviations from plan
    • Shaft plans
    • Mine technical systems required for mine planning purposes
    • Financial and resource modelling
    • Medium term mining plans
    • Track actual performance against selected scenarios

    This role is in the Mining Department and is at a Band 6 level reporting to the Chief Mine Planner.

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12
    • Advanced Survey or Mining qualification

    Onboarding Officer

    Job Description

    As an Onboarding Officer, you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    • Effectively manage and schedule the pipeline of incoming Contractors taking into account available resources for various on/offboarding steps.
    • Manage any escalated Contractor queries regarding the on/offboarding processes.
    • Support and guide Contractors in the Site processes for the effective management of Contractor and equipment on/off boarding.

    • Champion the usage of the digital Contractor Management System (Passport 360) for tracking the Contractor Management Processes.

    Underground Mobile Equipment Engineer

     

    Job Description

    • We are looking for an Underground Mobile Equipment Engineer who will be responsible for setting the standards and building operational competence to implement/ maintain and continually improve underground mobile equipment maintenance performance, provision of subject matter expertise across underground mobile equipment maintenance and lead area specific FutureSmart Mining™ initiatives.

    The role is based in South Africa and will have involvement across all of Anglo’s global underground operations. Domestic and international travel will be a requisite of this role.

    Key role requirements:

    • Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) input to AS&R strategies, tactics, work-packages, and task lists to ensure effective and efficient maintenance management for mobile equipment.
    • Develop continual improvement strategies and initiatives for mobile equipment arising from best practice monitoring, AS&R Roadmap/framework Assessments, assurance activities, investigations, and work management processes.
    • Monitor and review operational performance in mobile equipment across Group-wide operations.
    • Set and maintain the minimum guidelines for precision maintenance for mobile equipment maintenance and create assessment templates for assurance review processes.
    • Socialise the standards/ guidelines, specifications, and templates for mobile equipment. Provide SME input into the design of assets and operational readiness to review Original Equipment Manufacturer tactics and ensure optimal maintainability.

    Build operational competence with regards to mobile equipment maintenance by:

    • Providing high level advice, support coaching and mentoring to the workforce.
    • Developing and making available best practice processes, templates etc.
    • Identify training needs and communicate to the leadership team.
    • Lead or be a SME contributor to whole of business projects to improve mobile equipment performance as appropriate.
    • Support the AS&R Heads of Commodity to establish appropriate QA/QC requirements for outsourced refurbishment of mobile equipment maintenance work.

    Qualifications

    Formal Qualifications

    • Essential: An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline.
    • Registered Professional Engineer
    • Desirable: A postgraduate qualification (Masters / Doctoral degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity.

    Role-specific Knowledge/Requirements

    • 10+ years experience in operational leadership across underground mobile equipment.
    • A demonstrated thought leader and considered a global expert in the understanding and application of maintenance of underground mobile equipment within the resources industry.
    • Strong track record of defining and leading a strategic approach towards the application of technical expertise in the optimisation maintenance of underground mobile equipment in a complex, matrix structured global resources organisation.
    • Operational experience leading underground mobile equipment maintenance operations.
    • Track record of success in liaising and dealing at senior levels with stakeholders JV partners, suppliers, regulatory bodies, research institutions and industry associations and using own professional, technical expertise to constructively influence decisions and outcomes.

    Foreman Mechanical UG

    Job Description

    Your day-to-day duties will include:

    • Assist the operation management team in developing an operational plan for the year to support the shaft in achieving throughput objectives.
    • Undertake to plan, up to 1 year ahead and assists with 5-year planning, the budget requirements according to the planned maintenance schedules verses operational targets and budgets.
    • Undertake to plan the spares requirements according to the planned maintenance schedule and ensure their availability.
    • Liaise with the operation management team regarding daily, weekly and monthly progress to plan, budget and employee resources.
    • Oversee that all work practices are executed in compliance with legal requirements.
    • Regularly communicate progress of section against operational targets and objectives via a design communication and supervisory forum to subordinates.
    • Evaluate, monitor, and provide continuous feedback to the section regarding the performance efficiencies, standards of the section labour, equipment, budget and process targets.
    • Oversee the quality of workmanship and conduct regular inspections around the section and the operation.
    • Allocate labour resources and equipment to scheduled and priority activities so as to maintain and ensure high levels of labour, equipment and operational performance standards.
    • Investigation of incidents in area of responsibility (find root causes and sort out timeously)
    • Ensure procedures are followed – doing planned task observations from time to time.
    • Liaise with the other foreman to ensure that any problems that could overlap with other sections are pro-actively identified and discussed.
    • Identify operational priorities within the section that would ensure the optimization of the section’s performance.
    • Ensure availability for afterhours standby duties.
    • Allocate multi-task team members to artisans when required to perform and ensure effective maintenance.
    • Accompany the engineer on regular inspections and audits around the section.
    • Ensure correct calling out (procedure and investigate)
    • Reparation of spares as soon as possible
    • Complete safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports.
    • Establish procedures for abnormal work requirements which fall outside of standard procedures.

    • Ensure that all the data captured on the operational and technical management information and control systems are accurate and timeous.
    • Prepare adhoc reports for management or other information customers.

    This role is in the Technical -Engineering Operations Department at a band C5 level role reporting to the Engineer/ Engineering Supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12 with Mathematics, Science
    • Qualified as a Millwright/ Diesel Mechanic/ Auto Electrician
    • Foreman Certificate will be advantageous
    • Five years post trade experience
    • 5 years supervisory experience in a Foreman role (Trackless underground)
    • Valid driving licence code 08
    • Computer literacy (Word/Excel/Outlook/SAP)
