Mining Engineer X3 - Steelpoort at SWIFT

Qualifications:

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree (BSc / B.Eng) in Mining Engineering or a similar field.
• Registers as a professional engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
• Member of South Africa Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM).
• Permanent blasting certificate (DMRE / MQA).
• MDP Certificate advantageous.
• Project Management advantageous.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Mining Engineer in hard rock gold / platinum mining operations.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in management of mining operations as a legal appointee.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in developing and/or managing the production of a 5G enabled mine.

Knowledge and Skills:

• English: Fully Proficient.
• Mandarin: Fully Proficient (Preferred).
• Computer Literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Mine planning software such as 3DMine, Surpac, Microstation and AutoCAD and at least one Mine operation Scheduling software.
• Good knowledge of rock engineering, survey and geology in terms of hard rock mining.
• Good knowledge of the Health and Safety Act, not limited to MHSA, Minerals Act, Occupational Health and Disease Act, and Explosives Act.
• Knowledge of the relevant Acts regulating for TMM.
• Able to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Good design skills.
• Analytical problem solving and planning.
• High level of proficiency in writing technical reports and communication.
• Budget and resource planning and management.
• 5G mining principles.
