    Glencore Copper is seeking two Mining Engineers (1 x Open Cut and 1 x Underground) to work in the Mine Technical Services department in South Africa. These challenging roles will see you work closely in a multidisciplinary team to support our global copper operations, and gives the opportunity for travel to our African and other international operations including South America and Australia.

    You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including:

    • Development of life of mine design and schedules for a variety of open cut or underground operations
    • Support sites in implementing new mine planning systems and improving existing systems
    • Assist in technical evaluation of projects
    • Assist technical evaluations and due diligence reviews of investment opportunities

    You Will Have The Following

    • Relevant tertiary qualifications (mining engineer or similar mining related degree)
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in an underground or open pit mine environment
    • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
    • Advanced mining software skills, preferably with a range of planning software including Deswik, Surpac, Vulcan and MineSite suite of software
    • Ability to travel to Glencore’s operations in Africa, Australia and South America
