Moderator: Digital Motor Assessing at Old Mutual

Job Description

The purpose of this Role is to validate the quantum and merit of segmented motor claims actioned by motor assessors by performing investigations/Audit/moderate, verifying the description of the event with the loss, negotiating with (Insured, intermediary, service providers) and settlement of claims within a delegated threshold and according to SOP’s set out.

Qualification:

• Qualified automotive mechanic or automotive body repairer/spray painter/Mechanic (advantageous)
• Audatex/ Abuntex certification
• VDQ Certified min Practicing member

Experience:

• 5 + years Auto Body Repair (ABR) experience or relevant equivalent
• 5 + years assessing and or moderating experience.
• Must be computer literate
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good communication skills (verbal & written)
• Reasoning skills
• Good knowledge of motor industry environment and processes
• Leadership/supervisor experience.

Principle Accountabilities as indicated below but not limited to:

• Control teams repair cost within set target
• Ensure assessors SLA adherence of daily productivity, TAT and Inventory levels are met
• Coach and provide support
• Develop assessors
• Moderate assessments, additional FRC’s and queries within specified time
• Request Assistance from Operation Team Leader if required on a claim (e.g. if guidance/approvals are required)
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of information inserted by assessor
• Ensure SLA is adhered to with regards to rates
• Go through Abuntex graphics in a systematic way ensuring each items selected is needed
• opt for repair over replacement of parts where possible
• Coach assessor on any finding or changes made
• Ensure assessors complete accurate assessment upfront reducing additional variance
• Note all changes or notes on Audamail
• Attend to queries from all parties involved
• Liaise with client/broker whenever required to provide technical expertise
• Verification of all documents submitted by ABR’s
• Provide technical insights of all write off vehicles with relevant stakeholders
• Complete Merit investigations
• Completing digital assessments/higher quantum /complex claims
• Fulfill duties and functions set out by Team leaders/Management in accordance with business requirements
