    Motor Mechanic

    PATTERSON JOB GRADE D2: Ref No: RISK2024/04

    Minimum Requirements & Job Competencies:

    •  Qualified artisan (Motor Mechanic) or a Degree in Mechanical Engineering
    •  Matric/Senior Certificate
    •  Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience as both a petrol and diesel motor mechanic
    •  Wide range of mechanical workshop skills.
    •  Must have worked on Toyota Trucks, Bakkies and cars.
    •  Ability to communicate technical detail with all stakeholders and service providers and management.
    •  Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines and schedules.
    •  Ability to grasp application and functioning of new technology.
    •  Ability to write relevant reports
    •  Valid drivers licence

    Main Duties: (this is a brief summary and does not include all responsibilities assigned to the position):

    •  Vehicle Servicing and Maintenance
    •  Undertake major overhauls in respect of all major components including braking systems, gearboxes and 4-wheel drive transmission systems.
    •  Compile daily time sheets detailing the time spent on servicing vehicles.
    •  Complete requisition forms for all material requirements.
    •  Assist with information on the Workshop equipment or vehicles which are redundant, obsolete or beyond repair.
    •  Safeguarding of workshop equipment and related Entity properties.
