Motor Mechanic at West Coast Personnel

• The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a wide range of vehicles across multiple brands including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen.
• Working hours are Monday to Thursday 07:30 – 17:00 and Friday 07:30 – 16:15. Overtime may be required. MIBCO contributions are compulsory for both employee and employer.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle assessments and routine maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately
• Repair and service vehicles across various makes and models
• Assemble and install mechanical components according to specifications
• Complete job cards accurately, including repairs and parts used
• Ensure all critical components are checked and tested
• Perform minor and major services
• Carry out full overhauls of vehicle components

Requirements

• Red Seal Trade Certificate – Motor Mechanic (Light Vehicles) (proof required)
• Trade Test completed through MERSETA or an accredited institution
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience working on all makes and models, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen
• Experience on both petrol and light vehicle diesel systems (non-negotiable)
• Valid South African driver’s licence
• Computer literate (diagnostic systems and workshop software)
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems and diagnostic equipment
• High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Physically and mentally fit
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Sober habita
