Motoring Content Creator at AutoTraderSA

Responsible for the research & creation of top class motoring content; car reviews & comparisons, news articles, how to/safety/driving tips/DIY content and be able to present across video, podcasts & TV. 

A typical day as Motoring Content Creator at www.autotrader.co.za would be to: -

Relationships:

• Leverage existing relationships with manufacturers to source exclusive vehicles.
• Attend car launches, networking and representing the brand.
• Deepening/strengthening and building new relationships with OEMs and PR’s.

Written content:

• Write detailed expert car reviews, including comparisons as per the agreed content schedule
• Attend car launches & create on the go content including first drive impressions.
• Writing of expert motoring news, how to/safety/driving tips/DIY articles.
• Take bespoke images to ensure high quality content.

Video Content:

• Storyboard, script and present in videos across multiple platform including YouTube, social media, podcasts
• Preparing and scripting appearances on our motoring vodcasts.
• Presenting at various motoring events when required.

Content Delivery

• Creation of content as per content plan.
• Content delivery ahead of deadline.
• Adherence of digital content best practices.
• Ensure that quantity of content is delivered.
• Ensure that quality of content is of a high standard.
• Content expert on our motoring podcast.
• Ensure all content created is bespoke and unique to our website (no plagiarism will be tolerated.)
• Create content within our tools, upload content into CMS and publish to site once approved.
• Support the business with events, sponsorships and campaigns when content creation is required.
• Keep up to date with latest digital content trends.
• Monitoring of performance of content.
• Share content on social media in line with our social media policy

Who we’re looking for:

• Experience: 7-8 years automotive journalism & presenting 
• Matric & Degree in Journalism
• SEO & digital best practices.
• Experience with digital content writing.
• Knowledge and use of various online tools such as content management systems, Google Analytics, platform based analytics, for example YouTube analytics etc
• Video presenting (TV experience, presenting in video content)
• Podcast experience.
• Ability to self-edit/proofread/Editor experience.
• Google documents (sheets, docs, slides etc)
