    National Key Account Manager

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    • To take the lead role in developing the Shoprite account to deliver on business objectives for both McCain and Shoprite. To ensure proper forecasting is discussed and agreed with the customer; completed and communicated timely to meet production lead times.
    • To manage customer relationship and ensure optimum service is provided to the customer at all times. To ensure proper leadership and development of the Jnr Key Account Manager (KAM).

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    Financial:

    • Achieve agreed volume/net sales/gross profit targets.
    • Ensure management of forecasting to acceptable forecast error level.
    • Timeous execution on price increases.

    Execution:

    • Manage shelf health though Everyday Great Execution principle.
    • Achieve innovation launch plans.
    • Agree promotional activities with the customer and ensure adherence.
    • Continuous engagement with 3rd Party operations team (Vector).
    • Maximize product distribution.

    Trading Terms:

    • Prepare annual spend investment plan for business approval.
    • Maximize Return On Investment (ROI).
    • Reconcile and report on a monthly basis.

    Customer Relationship:

    • Ensure meeting with regional buyers and national category manager at least once a month.
    • Ensure meeting with head buyers at least once a quarter.
    • Drive category development agenda with the customer through our category team.
    • Ensure quality business reviews are presented to customers in meeting.
    • Drive to achieve customer agreed service levels on product supply.

    Administration:

    • Maintain good and timely processing of customer and travel claims.
    • Maintain sound filing of all relevant information.
    • Keep customer contact reports for all customer meetings.

    Planning and Reporting:

    • Ensure proper account plans are developed for monthly, quarterly and annually.
    • Develop sound reports for submission on a monthly/quarterly and annual basis.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Diploma in Marketing/ Business management or extensive experience in a relevant role (B Com Marketing will be an added advantage).
    • 5 – 10 Years’ FMCG Key Accounts experience.
    • More than 3 years’ experience in managing the Shoprite national account.
