National Logistics and Warehouse Manager at Mayfly Agri (Pty) Ltd

• A multinational food hygiene company providing cleaning services and hygiene chemicals to food processing plants and abattoirs is seeking a Logistics and Warehousing Manager to be responsible for leading the national warehousing, inventory, logistics and order fulfilment function across in-house and outsourced sites. The successful candidate will ensure products are received, stored, picked, packed and delivered accurately, safely, on time and within budget, while standardising practices, protecting inventory value and controlling total supply chain costs.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a 3-year degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse Management, Operations or Business Management
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehouse, logistics and supply chain management, including inventory and stock control
• Minimum 3 years’ multi-site or national operational management experience, including leading managers
• Proven experience managing transporters, 3PL providers and outsourced warehouse operators, plus budget preparation and cost control
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, ERP (Sage 300 / Accpac) and warehouse management / scanning systems
• Must have a valid Code B driver’s licence and willingness to travel nationally

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Standardising and governing warehouse operations across all in-house and outsourced sites (JHB, CPT, KZN, East London, Port Elizabeth), including national SOPs for receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
• Safeguarding national inventory accuracy, availability and value; running cycle counts and stock takes; controlling losses, write-offs, slow-moving and obsolete stock.
• Applying FIFO, batch and expiry controls; identifying product expiry risks early and preventing expired or out-of-specification stock from being dispatched.
• Planning and managing national transport and distribution; managing transporters and 3PLs against contracts, SLAs and rates; improving OTIF and load/route efficiency.
• Ensuring accurate, complete and on-time order fulfilment; monitoring open, overdue and back orders; resolving fulfilment complaints through root-cause analysis and corrective action.
• Leading, developing and holding accountable the Warehouse Manager North, Warehouse Manager South and Customer Care and Logistics Planner; setting and cascading KPIs and managing performance.
• Preparing and managing the national warehousing and logistics budget; controlling labour, freight, storage and operating costs; delivering verified cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensuring legal, policy, safety, hygiene, chemical storage and security compliance across all sites, including OHS Act requirements and audit close-out.
• Conducting scheduled site visits, operational reviews and warehouse audits; governing outsourced operators against agreed service levels.
• Driving continuous improvement, standardising best practices nationally, and measuring the operational and financial benefits of process, system and sustainability initiatives.
