    Network and Infrastructure Engineer

    Qualifications:

    • Matric or Grade 12
    • ITIL
    • CCNA, CCNP, HCNP, FCA or other related certificates
    • Firewalls and Cybersecurity

    Attributes:

    • Ability to participate in and establish collaborative working relationships.

    Preferred Skills/Experience

    • At least five (5) years of expert/advanced level skills and experience:
    • Project managing the implementation of enterprise infrastructure technology
    • Monitor the work and overall performance of regional network and voice technology systems
    • Evaluate and ensure processing performance relating to system and machine utilization, reliability, and capacity
    • Forecast financial, physical, and human resource needs to meet established objectives.
    • Manage all licensing exposure within the networking, voice, and perimeter infrastructure.
    • Architect, implement, and maintain specialized network services, concentrating on all aspects of network infrastructure (LAN/WLAN/Mesh/WAN)
    • Support team with MDM requirements.
    • Efficiently oversee expenses related to the network infrastructure, ensuring transparency and effectiveness in managing investment decisions and budget allocations
    • Oversee vendor performance to ensure adherence to contractual obligations
    • Serve as the primary escalation point for regional incidents or intricate site incidents concerning networking and communication infrastructure.
    • Understand technological trends and use this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge.
    • Oversee and coordinate frameworks, designs, blueprints, and restoration plans that isolate problems and implement pre-planned alternative routes or systems to restore service in networks and communication environments.
    • Promote and enforce business and technology standards, as well as best practices, within Networking environments.
    • Architect, implement and maintain disaster recovery technology and infrastructure

    Performance Responsibilities:

    • Proficiency in networking protocols, network security, and information management systems is essential.
    • Architect, implement and maintain a core switch environment
    • Architect, implement and maintain the firewall infrastructure, including setting up high availability and cross-site connections
    • Proficiency in specialized tools and technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network monitoring software, is essential.
    • Proficiency in network routing and switching protocols (e.g. STP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, IPSEC, QOS, NAT, Port Forwards) across multiple sites
    • Voice technologies such as VoIP, SIP, and unified communications.
    • Ensure Internet services are up and running and working. Including IPSEC and SD-Wan technologies.
    • Implement best-fit solutions to meet stakeholder requirements and contribute to region process enhancements.
    • Perform continuous monitoring reviews and measure defined quality and quantity indicators.
    • Technical Support: Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients or internal teams on networking infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
    • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, performance problems, and security vulnerabilities promptly and efficiently.
    • Analyze network traffic patterns and performance metrics to identify potential bottlenecks, anomalies, or areas for optimization.
    • Participate in business initiatives/projects and the different processes involved
    • Proactively monitors, investigates and reports on information security incidents, Internet use, and ICT policy breaches.
    • Excellent knowledge of enterprise technologies like DNS, DHCP, NAP, PKI, IP helper, and Certificates. Management
    • Work with Vendors for repairs, quotes, maintenance, etc
    • Swap out cabinet UPS's, Switches and cables when needed.
    • Perform and support other tasks as identified by the Technology Manager
