Installing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) and software, including servers, operating systems, and applications.
Perform regular checks on the network performance, identify potential problems, and proactively address issues to prevent downtime.
Develop ICT hardware and functional specifications for the ICT solutions to be implemented.
Diagnose and resolve network connectivity problems, hardware failures, and security breaches.
Firewall administration and overall responsibility for RIM IT security
Administration of RIM server infrastructure (DHCP, DNS, Active Directory)
Administration of email server for company-wide email.
Provide desktop, network and server support for all sites.
Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect the network from unauthorized access, malware, and other threats.
Implement ICT policies and procedures, including written protocols that guide ICT end-users across the organisation.
Implement and manage regular data backups to protect against data loss and ensuring efficient recovery processes.
Managing of server backups daily, weekly, and monthly
Continuously monitoring network performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
Managing user accounts, permissions, and access to network resources
Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reports pertaining the current state of ICT infrastructure across the organisation, on server backups and restore. Reports User Account Management. Reports on antivirus and firewall rules. Reports on network performance.
Create network layouts, selecting appropriate hardware and software, and ensuring proper installation of network components.
Work extended hours to meet statutory requirements and/or deadlines when required.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
Diploma (NQF 6) in ICT/ Information Systems/ Computer Science or CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA Certifications.
Advanced Diploma or bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) will be advantageous.
At least 5 Years’ experience as a Network and Server Administrator.
Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.), routing, switching, and security.
Experience in working with VLANS, Virtual Server Environment, Wireless Environment
Experience in working with backup server and access management (preferable Veeam Backup Sever)
Experience in working with Access Points
Knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products.
Administering networks such as Microsoft Windows Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
