    (nGAP) Lecturer: Forensic Science And Technology X1 (P7) -Department Of Police Practice

    To be eligible for selection for an nGAP post, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Must have achieved an average of 70% pass mark or above in the preceding degree, which should be a minimum of a Master’s degree as per the nGAP’s Terms and Conditions.
    • Must be 40 years or younger.
    • Be willing to commit to placement at Unisa for a full 6 years of the programme.
    • Demonstrate passion to follow a career as an academic and demonstrate high academic ability.
    • In addition to the above criteria, applicants must meet the following post-specific requirements:
    • An appropriate Master’s degree or MTech degree at NQF level 9 in the field of Forensic Science and Technology.
    • Must submit an intention to register (draft proposal or application) for a doctoral degree or proof of registration.
    • At least one (1) year of relevant teaching/research/industry experience with a strong focus in the field of Forensic Investigations.
    • Commitment to successfully complete the nGAP programme at Unisa.
    • Commitment to complete a doctoral degree within stipulated nGAP time frames.
    • Demonstrate the ability to conduct research.
    • Must submit and discuss teaching statement and a research reflection and/or portfolio.
    • Good theoretical knowledge of the discipline.
    • Participation in departmental, school, college, university committees, workplace committees or task teams and
    • voluntary associations.
    • Good communication skills.

    Recommendations:

    • Registration for a Doctoral degree in the Police, Forensic Science and Technology.
    • Teaching experience in a CODeL environment.
    • Research outputs.
    • Completed moderator and assessor training programmes.
    • Knowledge of the theory and practice of CODeL and technology-enhanced learning.
