Qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Nursing assistant or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary.
Grade 1: None after registration with the SANC in the relevant nursing assistant or Enrolled Nursing Auxillary as a in respect of South African qualified employees who performed Community Service, as required in South Africa.
Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognizable experience after registration with the SANC as Nursing Assistant or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary.
Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognizable experience after registration with the SANC as Nursing Assistant t or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary. Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant.
Duties:
Demonstrate elementary understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices. Perform an elementary clinical nursing practice in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards as determined by the relevant health facility.
Promote quality of elementary nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards as determined by the relevant health facility. Demonstrate elementary communication with patients, supervisors and other clinicians. Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure good nursing care.
Work effectively, co-operatively amicably with persons of diverse intellectual, cultural, racial or religious differences. Display a concern for patients, promoting and advocating elementary care including awareness and willingness to respond to patients' needs, requirements and expectations (Batho Pele).
