A vacancy has arisen for a Nursing Services Manager, reporting to the Hospital Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, managing and coordinating clinical activities of the multidisciplinary team by driving quality patient care and standard of service in the most cost-efficient manner and within agreed budgets.
Critical Outputs
Enhance customer service and quality assurance systems to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Optimise key stakeholder relations within a multi-disciplinary Healthcare team, to ensure optimal support and sustainability of services.
Implement budgetary controls and processes to regulate and effect timeous corrective action pertaining to strategic Nursing budget plan deviations.
Implement and monitor stock control procedures in order to limit stock losses.
Implement and monitor staffing levels based on departmental acuity levels.
Ensure that adequately trained Nursing staff are available to maintain optimal quality patient care.
Ensure that Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality, Risk and Infection Control principles are adhered to.
Administer, review and update all Nursing policies and procedures.
General Management functions within the Nursing services department including planning, leading, involving and developing Nursing staff.
Requirements
Hold a formal tertiary Nursing qualification relevant to the position.
A post graduate Healthcare Management qualification will be advantageous.
Be registered with the South African Nursing Council.
Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Nursing Services Management within the Private Health sector.
Have experience of sub-acute rehabilitation procedures and practices
Exhibit excellent leadership abilities with an in-depth knowledge of Nursing and Health Legislation
Display strong interpersonal and people management skills
Display strong analytical, problem solving and presentation abilities
Exhibit meticulous and well organised work methods with the ability to function independently
General computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills in English
Be stress tolerant and prepared to work extended hours whenever necessary
