    Occupational Health Practitioner - Kathu

    Job Description:

    Assess the health status of workers in relation to their work and the potential hazards involved.

    • The Work: Key Outputs and Accountabilities
    • Safety, Health, and Environment
    • Adhere to all safety, health and environmental practices and requirements.
    • SHE policies and procedures:
    • Escalate all unsafe practices or risks to the direct supervisor/manager.
    • Support good housekeeping in the department and on-site to ensure compliance.
    • Active participation in SLAMs, HPHs, relevant Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.
    • Analyze employee results and escalation of deviations in employees' results from previous records.
    • Conduct physical examinations on employees to determine their fitness levels.
    • Make referrals of health conditions requiring further investigation by specific specialists.
    • Capturing of examination results in the Health Source system.
    • Screen and evaluate medical surveillance results from outsourced services.
    • Assist in conducting medical Surveillance.
    • Assist in the management of Sishen employee absenteeism.
    • Assist in implementing health campaigns and health promotion, such as managing chronic diseases.
    • Participate in implementing applicable policies and guidelines to ensure a positive approach to a healthy work environment.
    • Participate in workplace investigations to determine the suitability and fitness of employees with specific medical conditions as part of the medical incapacity process.
    • Compile monthly reports based on results identified.

    Qualifications:

    • National Higher Certificate in Occupational Health (NQF5)
    • SA Drivers License
    • Registered at SANC (South African Nursing Council) Registered Occupational Health Practitioner (Technical member)

    Technical Knowledge

    • Experience in Occupational Health in the mining industry
