Occupational Hygiene Officer at Glencore

The incumbent in this role is responsible for ensuring optimal inspections, legislation and company policies and procedures on all matters concerning Occupational Hygiene Engineering are implemented, monitored and complied with.

In this role you will be responsible for

• Compiling mandatory Occupational Hygiene monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Assessing workplace stressors for Airborne Pollutants, Thermal stress, Noise, and developing a strategy and monitoring program as per the DMRE Guidelines.
• Conducting self-propelled mobile machinery and area illumination and noise survey.
• Sampling and analyzing of potable water.
• Analyzing and reporting of hazardous chemicals.
• Compiling baseline and issue-based risks assessments for all stressors encountered.

About you

To be considered for this role, you will meet the following minimum requirements:

Minimum Qualification:

• Relevant Tertiary Qualification and Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control OR
• Certificate in Mine Environmental Control.
• Obtained required subjects to enable registration with the South African Institute of Occupational Hygiene (SAIOH).

Minimum Experience:

• 3 Years’ experience in Occupational Hygiene.
• Competent in hygiene measurement techniques.
